From Broken to Beautiful

Born and raised in a suburb of Buffalo, New York, Kerri Lynn’s passion to know Jesus and accept Him into her heart began at a young age.  Her mother, grandmother and aunt influenced her greatly as a child as she watched how they lived out their lives in faith through the Lord.

As an 8-year-old child of divorce, Kerri Lynn sought understanding as to what it meant to be God’s child, to have a Godly father and a place just for her in His kingdom.  She struggled through her teen and early adult years to feel loved and accepted.  She abused alcohol and made poor decisions that nearly took her life at just 15 years of age from alcohol poisoning. She spent three days in the hospital in a coma fighting for her life.

From there it was a downward spiral fighting addiction, emotional, physical and sexual abuse.   Her faith in Jesus and the constant prayers of her family and knowing God’s faithfulness to keep His promises and His word were and have been her only constant.  She always understood that he was her source of protection and healing from the powers of darkness, and that he alone could deliver, heal and free her.

Kerri Lynn grew up training as a dancer under her mother who owned a dance studio.  After graduating High School, Kerri received a Musical Theater scholarship from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa.  She then attended The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City under scholarship.  AMDA is a college conservatory for the performing arts where she received extensive training in singing, dancing and acting in film and television.  In 2008, she completed her first album on iTunes called “MY LIFE” which she wrote and recorded with music producer Mike Warner.  The album is pop/R&B style about her past alcohol addiction and broken relationships.

After graduating in New York City, she worked briefly in children’s theater and eventually landed 5 Swing roles in the 25th Anniversary Broadway National Tour of CATS.  After touring North America, she worked in a regional production of CATS as well as rejoining the National Tour for a brief time.

Shortly after tour life, Kerri Lynn moved back to Buffalo where she began teaching dance at her home studio full time.  During this period, she met her loving and supportive husband Joshua.  They now have 2 beautiful children, Gwendolynn and Noah.

For the past 10 years, God has done innumerable works in Kerri’s life.  He has delivered her from panic attacks, fear and has healed her in her physical body.  She recalls this past season of walking through the wilderness as her greatest and most difficult trial yet.  But it was there in the wilderness where the enemy tried to defeat her that the Lord turned it around for her good by pruning, healing and restoring her.  God fulfilled His promises by leading her into this new promised land; she has begun to walk through her calling and has been called out of darkness and into His glorious light.

Writing and recording a Christian album has been a dream on Kerri’s heart for the last decade, and she believes God rescued and saved her to a new call to worship ministry in this present time.  She is currently part of the worship team at her church.  She hopes to bring a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit through her worship, and longs to worship Jesus by forever giving Him the glory!

In 2016, she traveled to Nashville, TN and met producer Eric Copeland and his unique recording company Creative Soul Records. After spending time together talking about her story, her music, and her goals in ministry, they set out to create a music project that would encapsulate her journey, and launch her music career.

“Broken to Beautiful”, the new release on Creative Soul Records, is about Kerri Lynn’s past, present and future and how the Lord is doing something brand new in her life.  Not only is she on fire to lead souls to Jesus through her music and ministry, but she truly believes God will use these songs to bring healing to those who are hurting and lost, just as she once was.  Kerri also desires to use her professional dance background in a way that will lead others to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Kerri Lynn can now profess without a doubt that she knows who she is as God’s child and who she has been created to be!   She may have gone through intense warfare and testing to get to this place, but her faith has increased in the Lord and in His word and in His mighty strength.   Her love for Jesus has only grown deeper and stronger and her desire is to live her life for Christ, and Christ alone.
